ooc; Um, yes, Darkpaw is now Darkmoon. 'Cause I am pretending he had his warrior ceremony. So now he is a warrior. xP Song is About a Girl by Nirvana.
***
i need an easy friend i do, with an ear to lend i do, think you fit this shoe i do, think you have a clue
Why do I keep coming back here? Am I waiting to die, so my body can lie alongside the cliff, where their bodies were?
So were the thoughts of MireClan's youngest tom, Darkmoon, as he peered cautiously, ears flat against the noisy roar of the Whispering Falls. Droplets, caught in his whiskers, glinted silver in the starlight's gentle kisses and trembled like fat drops of sky water. Shaking them away, he cast his gaze over to the farther side of the Whispering Falls.
take advantage while you hang me out to dry but i can't be see you every night free... i do
Everything down there is death. So, erm... why are you here, you idiot? Your parents died here. So have many other cats. Do you have a deathwish?
Yeah... so what if he did? So what if he didn't feel like living, and didn't feel like caring about Plaguestar and Mirrorshard? So what if he just wanted to end the whole miserable existence? He closed his eyes, half fearing and half savoring the thought. Darkness crept in from the twilight's old and discarded shadows into his heart and brain, and nothing good arose from the twisting evil of black scars and his bleeding brain.
i'm standing in your line i do, hope you have the time i do, pick up number two i do, keep a date with you
So, being a warrior was not all it cracked up to be. As a kit, Darkmoon had admired Plaguestrike -- his name, his code of honor, his stature, the respect younger cats gave him -- but... was it really worth it? Now he wondered why he had cared. Of course, carrying the name Darkpaw had been humiliating, but... still... what made the cat Darkmoon so much better than the cat Darkpaw? Or Draik, for that matter? What made Mirrorshard better than Dumia?
Darkmoon and Mirrorshard. The troubled, youthful tom who wanted to believe in the good left in the world, and the classy, elegant and still lively she-cat. The now-warrior children of Shadow and Shroud, grandchildren of Foxfrost, Icespark, Squirrelpelt and Shallowstorm. Hell, just go back to Shallowheart and call it even.
take advantage while you hang me out to dry but i can't see you every night but i can't see you every night free... i do, i do, i do
Kinda sucks, bein' related to Shallowheart and Stormfaith, he thought bemusedly, not really thinking it 'sucked' at all. They had been evil, yes, but who even could trace Darkmoon back to the original ClawClan rebel, or the determined Faithful Shadows' brainchild? He smirked and turned away from that thought; there were cats with worth problems than bad lineage or suicide wishes.
Like Eclipse.
He had managed to shove the black she-cat out of his mind for several moons, but.. she had somehow managed to climb back into his demented den of a mind. Her flashing purple eyes, sleek build, and eerie aura about her made her quite an unforgettable character -- plus, she was there when he and Mirrorshard had discovered that their parents were actually dead.
i need an easy friend i do, have an ear to lend i do, think you fit the shoe i do, think you have a clue
She helped us get rid of the bodies, but she wasn't much help, otherwise. All well; why be bitter towards her? It's not like she killed them, or anything...
Tilting his head back and letting moonlight slide invitingly over his jet-black pelt, almost like cool water, his acid-green eyes shimmered and examined the area. Was Eclipse here? Was that why he really came? He didn't really know. He wasn't the same cat; she would probably chase him off of her territory, in fact.
take advantage while you hang me out to dry but i can't see you every night but i can't see you every night free, i do
'Her' territory? Since when do the Whispering Falls belong to Eclipse, the weird loner? Never. And they never will. I'm a freakin' warrior now; no cat chases me from anywhere.
Shifting slightly, he looked back towards the falls, ears perking up, despite the grueling sound of masses of waterfall hitting the stones below.
free, i do i do... i do... i do... i do...

xxdiz:// Oh, Foxxie, Foxxie, Foxxie. You knew I wouldn't resist, huh? Song is "The Artist in the Ambulance" by Thrice.//
late night, brakes lock, hear the tires squeal red light, can't stop so I spin the wheel my world goes black before I feel an angel lift me up
"What do you want?" A harsh voice said from beneath a shadowed overhang. Eclipse stepped out from there, violet eyes flashing with a hidden threat, silently walking up the ramp-like path that connected the rocky shore of the Whispering Fall's pool to the cliffs that loomed above it. She narrowed her eyes at the strange form, radiating hostility at the feline until a voice in the back of her head whispered, It's Darkpaw, Eclipse.
and i open bloodshot eyes into fluorescent white they flip the siren, hit the lights, close the doors and i am gone
The purple eyes widened in recognition, showing a little more than just that. They shimmered with some slight relief at the knowledge that this was a cat she knew, however barely, but with fear, too. Fear that he would find out the truth. Because I killed his parents, I killed a Clan cat, I killed them all, oh gods, oh stars, I did it, I--
Instantly, the obsidian-coloured feline halted that thought. There was no need for her to panic. How could Darkpaw know this? She hadn't told him, but he had seemed clever when last they'd met. But, again, she'd been careful, revealing nothing more than the regret that had become such a key part of herself.
now i lay here owing my life to a stranger and i realize that empty words are not enough i'm left here with the question of just what have i to show except the promises i never kept? i lie here shaking on this bed, under the weight of my regrets
"You shouldn't be here," she said simply, coldly. It was a fact: any cat who'd dared to step into the grounds she'd claimed as hers, the place better known to the Clans as the Whispering Falls, had suffered a fate worse than just simple death. They'd been maimed, brutally slaughtered without so much as a tear shed for the lives they'd been so foolish as to throw away by entering her domain.
But he escaped. Him, and his sister, and the moor-cat and my cousin. They survived, Eclipse reminded herself quietly, only to laugh at her own ignorance not even a moment later. But I was sane then. I knew to stop, and those last two barely escaped unscathed. The jet-black cat allowed herself to sit at the top of the walkway, curling her tail neatly over paws that bore spiked fur from the dried blood she never bothered to wash herself of.
i hope that i will never let you down i know that this can be more than just flashing lights and sound
look around and you'll see that at times it feels like no one really cares
She let the silence hang for a moment, the tip of her tail twitching from side to side restlessly. There was probably a great deal to talk about between them; otherwise, why else would Darkpaw have come, save to die? After a time, she spoke again, ears flattening against her head. She had to warn him, in a way. Since he'd first come here, she'd thought a great deal about things. Herself, her life, life in general; they were all connected, she supposed. And what she'd come to believe was this: life could not be thrown away at a whim.
it gets me down but i'm still gonna try to do what's right, i know that there's a difference between sleight of hand, and giving everything you have there's a line drawn in the sand, i'm working up the will to cross it and
i hope that i will never let you down i know that this can be more than just flashing lights and sound
"This isn't a place for sightseeing, Darkpaw," Eclipse said, in a dangerous, low voice that bordered on a monotone. Things were safest for her when she let go of emotions, when she didn't let them get involved with her already-chaotic life. "Cats have come here in the past, and died for it. Your parents, cats from the clans both new and old... Even your ancestor, Thistlestar, dared to come to the Falls, and died for that.
"This place is cursed, kit, and haunted by the souls of the dead." She added darkly, eyes flashing with hidden meaning.
rhetoric can't raise the dead i'm sick of always talking when there's no change rhetoric can't raise the dead i'm sick of empty words, let's lead and not follow
From time to time, Eclipse wondered what had lead her to make this place her home. Certainly she knew it was haunted with death: the slippery rocks around it, the thin, twisting path that lead one from the relative safety of the bottom to the top of the cliffs, slick with spray from the waterfall. She was haunted by her own lineage, one that was heavily tainted with death, just as the Falls were.
Heartface, killed by her own paw out of grief and madness for the love she thought was lost to her. Freedspirit, killing to justify himself and his forbidden love with a cat the laws said he could never have. Mooncrest, dead for the same reasons as her own grandmother. And me. Whenever she thought of herself, Eclipse felt an uncontrollable urge to laugh, to drive the oppressive silence of her home away with the mad sound of her insanity.
late night, brakes lock, hear the tires squeal red light, can't stop so i spin the wheel
The greatest sin of her family, worse than Freedspirit had ever dreamed of being. She killed, murdered, slaughtered, for no reason other than trespassing on the place she considered to be hers. Perhaps it was insanity that drove her here. But she could end it. She could, if she wanted to. Stop the death and damnation that had cursed her and her own for so long.
And she'd start here.
my world goes black before i feel an angel steal me from the greedy jaws of death and chance, and pull me in with steady hands they've given me a second chance, the artist in the ambulance
She turned her head away from the tom, silently afraid that he'd see the thoughts that roared through her head by looking at her eyes. Eyes that shone purple, sang of regret and madness and always, always of death. There wasn't more than she could do than warn him.
i hope that i will never let you down i know that this can be more than just flashing lights and sound
can we pick you off the ground, more than flashing lights and sound?

ooc: Beautiful, Diz! -loving sigh- I love this couple so much! Song is "No Excuses" by Alice in Chains.
****
it's alright there comes a time got no patience to search for peace of mind layin' low want to take it slow no more hiding or disguising truths I've sold
What do you want?
Nothing more or less than a tigress's vicious and bloodthirsty snarl, as trespassers neared her den; correct? The MarshClan warrior, possibly to be succeeding the late Spectrumfire, turned, hackles rising ever so slightly. In the music of the night, soft whispers against sturdy ground resounded like an echo through a cave -- her scent, cool and water-splashed, hit him in the face like a long-awaited breeze. Silken ears twitching like thin, material wedges, delicately upturning, Darkmoon barely heard the shadow moving on the ground, blending with the darkness she had seemingly become. Blinking, he found the flash of violet that were her eyes -- and he thought they looked doubtful and manic. Turning to face her, he realized that she brought with her a cloud of dark, deviling hostility. Fear crawled around him on the ground, though he was not sure, exactly, why. A simple she-cat like Eclipse could never fight a grown warrior, right?
everyday, it's somethin' hits me all so cold you'll find me sittin' by myself no excuses that i hold
Standing, his empty acid eyes picked up a hint of bewilderment and surprise. A cold shudder rippled through his coat, as though a ghost was here. Well, there were ghosts; Eclipse and he were very well extensions of them. Spirits of Shadow, of Shroud, of Stormfaith, of Soulkeeper and Gustwhisker, of Shallowheart... spirits of Freedspirit and Mooncrest... spirits of evil and haunted cats that were reborn in the two lineage-tainted warriors. He stretched, loving the familiar burn of adrenaline in his muscles as he felt the moody tension Eclipse brought with her.
Eclipse. I want nothing but to see the place both of my parents died. It's... it's almost like visiting their graves, though I didn't bring flowers. Here he smirked, casting his eyes to the moon that peered like StarClan's condescending eye from the night sky. Silver and gray mocked him, mocked all that he stood for; which was...? Was what? Not freedom, not independence. Darkmoon stood silently for a moment, before he turned back to the black she-cat. Her cold, hoarse meow hit him like gravel to the ears, yet he did not flinch.
it's okay had a bad day hands are bruised from breaking rocks all day drained and blue, i bleed for you you think it's funny, well you're drowning in it too
You shouldn't be here. Cats have come here in the past... and died for it.
Sure enough. I understand, as you've said, that cats have died here. It would have had to be the fault of their own foolish brains, or the fault of nature. Take that as you will.
everyday, it's somethin' hits me all so cold you'll find me sittin' by myself no excuses that i hold
After a moment, he realized she had held hidden notes of... what in her voice? Regret? Helplessness? Urgency? To think it was something like that gave him chills. He did realize that she did not look quite right, which worried him a bit. What was wrong with Eclipse? Was she ever right? How would he know?
Standing, he finally was all-business again. Eclipse. I am no longer Darkpaw, and refuse to be called 'kit'. I am now Darkmoon, possibly the next deputy of MireClan. I am now a warrior, despite my loner, Faithful Shadows, and ClawClan origins. I am doing my Clan proud, and I will continue to do so. The fact that her "Darkpaw"s had been so condescending irked him to no end.
yeah, it's fine we'll walk down the line leave our rain, a cold trade for warm sunshine you my friend i will defend and if we change, well i love you anyway
He heard her ending, and it made his bones and soul cold as well as his flesh and fur. Darkmoon swallowed, standing and twitching his tail, moonlight accenting the muscles and soft black pelt on his body. He stared at her hopefully, before meowing in a dreamlike, epiphanous voice,
Eclipse. Are you... threatening me?
everyday, it's somethin' hits me all so cold you'll find me sittin' by myself no excuses that i hold

xxdiz:// Eh heh heh. Sorry about the tardiness, Foxxie. Song is "Psycho" by Puddle of Mudd; another recommendation by Leafy.//
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho... yeah...
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho...
Darkmoon. Fitting, don't you think, Eclipse? laughed the voice in the back of the she-cat's mind as she took in the tom's words. He looked bigger than she remembered, stronger and more powerful than he had used to. The jet-black she-cat outwardly relaxed just a little, keeping herself alert within. She didn't know what the voice would do next; for now, it was best that she stayed perpared. No more death, no more blood, she told herself, ignoring the mocking laugh she heard but never uttered.
She lays down on the fresh lawn She can make everything magical But she tied one on big time And it makes me want to rewind
"Darkmoon. It's a..." Eclipse stopped short, not sure of what to say. The name itself seemed like a curse; how many of her ancestors had suffered under a name that invoked the moon? Too many for her liking. But she didn't want him to hear that.
So instead, she said, "It's a name with power." What power exactly, she didn't want to say; the black cat wasn't entirely sure about it yet, just as she wasn't quite sure about him or herself.
To back in the days when we were young When everything was like a loaded gun Ready to go off in any minute And you know we're gonna win again
Yeah you know we're gonna win again Yeah you know we're gonna win again
"Eclipse. Are you... threatening me?"
At that, the she-cat nearly laughed. Her, threaten him? That was hilarious, just the suggestion of it. Even he should know that. But the dark tom looked tense, ready for a fight. A fight that Eclipse wanted to avoid at all costs, because she had a feeling she already knew who'd win if it came to bloodshed.
"I don't threaten, Darkmoon," the cat said in her cool voice, laden with sencerity, but, more than that, with knowing. "I want you to know, though, that this place is not what some have made it out to be. It is a place of death."
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho... yeah
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The paranoid flake-oh... yeah
Death that you bring, Eclipse. You are Death, the Grim Reaper, the emissary of the afterlife! The voice chimed in silently, so that only she could hear it. Violet eyes went wide with that knowledge, filled with a brand of fear that only that voice could instill in her. It just kept telling her these things, things that stole sleep and dreams and peace from the jet-black feline and brought darkness and despair and fear instead. Was she Death? Eclipse didn't know.
Gods and stars, she didn't know so much!
She lays down on the sidewalk Never very analytical She is something simply beautiful Reappear with youth and magical
Back in the days when we were young When everything was like a loaded gun Ready to go off in any minute Yeah you know we're gonna win again
Silently, Eclipse tried to check her growing panic. She couldn't afford to lose control here, not with Darkmoon. He didn't deserve to die like the others before him had, like Shadow and Shroud, like Icefire.
Well, perhaps he did, Eclipse. He was a murderer, remember? He killed your cousins, his parents, and wanted to kill his sisters. The voice sounded logical now, almost soothing her with its undeniable reason. And, you have to admit, the Clans had methods of punishing trespassers just a hair less stringent than the ones we employ. No real difference, really. A mental shrug. Eclipse felt it push a little at her, trying to find a crack in her calmness. Trying to find the panic that would let it free and drive her into that all-too familiar psychosis again.
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The schizophrenic Psycho... yeah
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The paranoid flake-oh... yeah I'm the one I'm the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho
"Darkmoon, please," Eclipse said, voice still level and calm, but beneath it, a layer of urgency and a trace of panic. "I need you to leave. Now. The Falls don't belong to your Clan, you don't need to be here." The last words almost tumbled out of her mouth. Eclipse got to her feet.
I'm the one I'm the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho
You're the one You're the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho
"You don't belong here, even if your parents are buried here. There's nothing good about the Whispering Falls, don't you see?" She suppressed the urge to unsheathe her claws; that would be seen as a threat towards him, not her own defense against her own growing panic.
Back in the days when we were young When everything was like a loaded gun Ready to go off in any minute And you know we're gonna win again
She wished she was still a kit, able to smile and laugh with her siblings and mother. Hells, she wished she could just remember those days! Just a memory of when things were good, when she didn't bring death and blood in her wake, when the voice was nothing more than a bad idea here and there.
But those memories were fading, some long-since gone from her. And Eclipse had a feeling that it wasn't long before she lost even more of those memories.
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho... yeah
Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... The paranoid flake-oh...
"I need you to leave," she repeated, trying to make her point as clear as she possibly could. If she said it enough, he'd have to go, wouldn't he?
You're the one You're the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho
(Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... Who is the schizophrenic psycho)
Ah, but you forget, my dear, the voice said, and Eclipse could almost feel its shadowy tendrils wisping against her mind. He's a warrior now. And nearly the second-in-command of his clan. Why should he listen to you? Why should he listen tous?
You're the one You're the one Who is... The schizophrenic psycho
(Maybe I'm the one Maybe I'm the one Who is... Who is the schizophrenic psycho)
That was all it took. Eclipse let her claws slide out of their sheathes, stained a sick, coppery red. She lowered her head so that she was looking up at Darkmoon through those bright purple eyes, a color that stood out from the rest of her pelt. She spoke again, cold and controlled, but with that same taint of fear and panic sneaking through her words.
"If I have to, Darkmoon, I'll use force. I don't want to, but I will." Mentally, she shuddered. She knew what force meant to her and that voice, and it laughed. Please, Darkmoon, just run! She screamed inwardly.
You're the one, You're the one, Who is the schizophrenic psycho

ooc; I love this chick so much. xD I won't tell you why. Anyways, nice post. Song is "I Stay Away" by Alice in Chains.
***
Yeah, I want to travel south this year Ahh, woah, woah Won't prevent safe passage here
Never having been a good judge of either character or mental state, Darkmoon stared levelly at Eclipse. What was going on behind that calm amethyst gaze? What fires burned, what winds chilled, what thoughts crashed like someone out of control? He yearned to know what made Eclipse say the things she did, what made that desperation cross her face, like someone was taunting her into something she didn't want to do. He wondered if she was quite right in the head; looks could be deceiving, he knew.
A name with power. Was it? He had thought it was both a mysterious and a slinky, sly name, a name for a fox-minded cat who moved slowly and was in low profile. Darkmoon wasn't quite that cat; he walked tall, but with his head low and his eyes on the ground. At this, however, his head rose and his acid stare met Eclipse's. He read nothing into her dark, blank violet gaze; why should he? Did he expect to? He wasn't sure. He rose one paw, flexing the claws but not looking at them. Tension filled the air; the only sound, for a moment, was the sound of background water rushing around them.
Why you act crazy Not an act maybe So close a lady Shifty eyes shady
His thoughts churned uneasily, just like his stomach and the water. What's going on here? She... is there something the matter? Is she afraid of someone? Something... isn't right. He blinked, stepping forward, instead of backwards. This is a place of death.
Death. Places don't kill cats; cats kill cats, he meowed grimly, taking another step forward. He still felt apprehension crawling down his spine; Eclipse was a bit too eerie this fine day. Had she always been this way, or was it a new birth, a new death of something inside? He closed his eyes for a moment, savoring the spray, light on his onyx pelt. He whipped his tail like a scourge for a moment, before Eclipse spoke again.
Ohh, ohh, woah Tears that soak a callous heart
She was urging him to leave. She really didn't want him here. Instead of feeling hurt or relieved, Darkmoon became afraid and suspicious. Why are you afraid? Are you not a warrior now? No, tom, no -- you aren't running from someone like her. What if she needs help? What if you need help? No one can help you, and you didn't come to kill yourself. Or maybe he did. If Eclipse wanted to fight him, it was possible he would not fight her back. The look in her eyes was beginning to seriously put him in a dreamlike state; it was not the look of a sane cat.
Desperation, fear, hostility, obedience. Where do you see that? In the eyes of a hostage. A victim. A slave. Now that's what's getting to me, I think.
Why you act frightened I am enlightened Your weakness builds me So someday you'll see
I... I can't leave. Not again. Not now. See, my parents died here... not all that long ago, if you think about it. And something killed them. Is that what you're afraid of? Is it still here? He asked, carefully treading. Had it been a fox, a badger, a dog? Another cat? Was that even it? Darkmoon observed her closely, and, finally, he took one last step forward, so that they were but inches apart. He could see her dark jet face, her gleaming, lovely but emotionally drained eyes.
I won't leave. Not by choice, not by force, not if StarClan themselves picked my carcass up and dropped it somewhere. I won't leave you here alone again. He smirked, his expression cocky and challenging. Was he making a mistake, or a good choice? He supposed he would find out. Was coming here a bad choice?
I stay away... Ohh, oh!
Could be.
His life was full of 'em.
Why you act crazy Not an act maybe So close a lady Shifty eyes shady I stay away

xxdiz:// Damn, I'm late on these. But all the same, yeah, love these two. Song is "Nephilim" by AFI; hooray for Pandora Radio!//
Swing through sadness, tears of joy. Curse the sunlight. Arsenic for the girls and boys. Drink the madness, smoke so coy.
Eclipse's eyes narrowed at Darkmoon's decision. She didn't want him here with her, that was just it! Him, with his cocky smirk and casual stance, as if he didn't see the danger that stood right in front of him! She bristled visibly, claws sliding out of their sheathes unconciously. She had to make him leave, even if it meant destroying whatever relationship they'd had. Did he think they were friends? Eclipse couldn't be friends with anyone; the insane didn't deserve to be with anyone, even as allies.
Smile injection. Serum of a will destroyed. Serum of a will. Serum of a will destroyed.
"I told you to leave, Darkmoon," she hissed, her voice dropping an octave as she allowed the thing in her mind some slight control. Not much, but enough that it had its way, and Eclipse could keep herself from hurting him. That was something she wanted to avoid. "I fear nothing, not even..." The black feline hesitated a moment, not sure of how true she was being. "Not even what killed your parents. I'm strong, Darkmoon, and I sure as hell don't need you."
The seasons change, change without me. I remain in shadows growing wings. The spirit song still surrounds me, in refrain, in shadows growing wings.
She wasn't going to let him stay here, even if she hadn't been the mental wreck she was now. He had a life ahead of him, with his Clan and its cat. There was bound to be some she-cat back there, waiting for him to return. What would she think if he came back to her covered in his own blood, missing his throat and heart? ran one thought through her mind. Eclipse smiled at the thought, at the idea of the reaction it'd get, at the sheer idea of causing so much damage, then stopped herself.
Wasn't that violence, those thoughts, the reason she was here now? Too many of these twisted, bloody, violent visions had forced her to leave her place near her cousins, to come here and live in solitude. And that solitude had pushed her further into madness, to the point where those thoughts came frequently, unbidden, and made her laugh from time to time, when she wasn't miserable. When she wasn't regretting everything she'd done in her life.
Swing through sadness, tears of joy. Curse the sunlight. Arsenic for the girls and boys. Drink the madness, smoke so coy. Smile injection. Serum of a will destroyed. Serum of a will. Serum of a will destroyed.
Would killing Darkmoon make things better?
Yes. No. He'll be out of our fur. He wants to help us! And how do you think he'll help? ... Exactly. He can't. Not without destroying us, he can't. But I don't want to kill him! I do. And so do you. No. No, I can't. Can. Won't. ...Fine. But, if we wind up dead... We won't. Sure about that? ...No. Not quite. Exactly.
The seasons change, change without me. I remain in shadows growing wings. The spirit song still surrounds me, in refrain, in shadows growing wings.
Eclipse sheathed her claws, turning away from Darkmoon. She didn't want to look at him, not right now. She had control now, but barely. She wasn't sure how it'd hold up, and the last thing she wanted right now was to risk its destruction. "Go home, Darkmoon." She said coldly, as if she didn't care about him in the least.
Like an angel with two broken wings, reach to the sky again. Like a devil, meant for better things, I will find my place on high.
"Go home, Darkmoon," she repeated. "It's nearly the full moon, and the Clans will be having their truce soon. The moon has no hold here," Eclipse added darkly, starting down the path towards her cave. "Nothing in the sky does, but least of all the moon. That's why I'm named Eclipse, the dark one in a line of bright moons. And you'd do well to remember that."
The seasons change, change without me. I remain in shadows growing wings. The spirit song still surrounds me, in refrain, in shadows growing wings.

ooc: Really a pity we have to wrap this up so soon and so uneventfully. Song is "Drift and Die" by Puddle of Mudd.
Forgotten thoughts of yesterday Through my eyes I see the past
Darkmoon twitched his whiskers, realizing that what the black nomad spoke of was quite true: the full moon nested in a bristly bed of obsidian, and he knew his Clan would soon be going to the Gathering. It miffed him a bit to know that Eclipse had successfully driven him away; he hated losing, and it seemed that's all he was capable of. Turning burning eyes on her, he answered, So it is, so it shall be. Don't think this is the last time I'll see you, though. Smirking, he brushed by her, their flanks only an inch apart. How dangerously close! Why was he a bit afraid? He, a trained tom, and she, a lone she-cat? No question!
Well I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why I believe, I believe, I believe -- in the truth Throw me aside Go away, go away, go away For me Leave me alone Ignorance spreads lies How much will money buy? Well, I'll take my time As I drift and die...
Just a few centimeters from her, the experience chilled him. Their pelts, matching shadow-colored velvet scraps, shone silver under the light of the rising moon, and he realized with a pang that they could never be mistaken for one another. Sure, they were both attractive cats, in their own way, but Eclipse had a cold, dead look on her face, the look of someone drowned in a pond with an anchor tied to their legs. Darkmoon had the look of desperation, of wanting to be saved from inner turmoil. He smiled cockily and breathed slowly on her fur, wanting to laugh and moan and scream all at once.
Unwanted, I live my life a shame Who's to blame for my mistakes?
How strange this she-cat made him feel! He decided to run along now. She terrified him. For real.
