I doubt anyone on here will put 1980's or below, personally...
But you can pick two.
I pick 1990's and 2000's.
I'm sorry, but Seattle grunge kicks the ass of all other music, in my opinion, which is very limited.
The 90's was a great place for rock and roll, but not so much for hip hop and rap. Which I never listened to anyways, so we're all good there. Lol.
I mean, you've got Nirvana, Alice in Chains <3, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Stabbing Westward, Guns 'N Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Offspring, Korn, Pantera, Metallica, Collective Soul... I mean, come ON!
...But then again, you have crap like Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, and a lot of other stuff that sucks.
And the 2000's was an amazing era for rock as well. Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Shinedown, Seether, Staind <3, Stone Sour, Slipknot, Godsmack, Puddle of Mudd, Foo Fighters, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Nickelback, and a lot of others.
Anyways, I'm done rambling.
=D

My mind doesn't work like that. I wasn't even into music until the 2000's.

What do you mean your mind doesn't work like that?
x.x; Surely you like at least one song from an earlier era? Hell, I wasn't even born when most of my favorite bands recorded their first alblums! But I still love them...

I mean my mind doesn't sort music in chronological order. I don't keep track of what time period the songs I listen to are from. I think they're all newer-ish music though. I have a best of the 90's CD though and I like the stuff on that.

What's on it? =D
Okay, that I can understand. I'm just a weird obsessive-compulsive freak... before I put a song on my iPod, it has to follow the following criteria:
a.) It must have cover art. MUST. I will take it off, no matter how much I like the song, if there is no cover art. b.) It must be one of the three genres: Rock, Alternative, or Metal. If it is not one of those genres, I change it manually.
I know there's more... huh. I can't think of it. That's the important stuff though. xD

I actually laughed when I read the cover art thing. That's a bit obsessive.
I don't know what's on it off hand, and I'm too lazy to look it up.

The only one I like is the Collective Soul song, actually.
Oh well. Lol.
How is the best of the 90's when there's no STP or AIC or Nirvana!?

I think Barely Breathing's pretty good, although not amazing. And One Week is... different.
